The beer scene in Colorado Springs is on fire! My friend and I went to Pikes Peak for a quick visit back in early June and decided to stop by a brewery afterward. We looked online and found a slew of craft breweries. We finally decided on Goat Patch Brewing and we did not regret it! What a cool spot! Continue reading “BBD “sits down” with bearded brewer”

Belgian Bruz in Denver
My friends recently took me to a brewery in Denver called Bruz Beers. They specialize in Belgian-style beer and their taproom at York and Colfax is a pretty cool spot to hang out and grab a couple. Continue reading “Belgian Bruz in Denver”
Let’s open a brewery, but first…Covid-19
They were going to have their grand opening back in March but then the pandemic hit. Change of plans. Continue reading “Let’s open a brewery, but first…Covid-19”
Horse & Dragon: HD craft experience
Horse & Dragon… It brings back so many good memories. I visited their brewery in Fort Collins, CO back in November and liked ALL of their beers. How often does that really happen? This is high-definition craft beer, folks. In short, I’m a fan! Continue reading “Horse & Dragon: HD craft experience”
A little “lost” (and found!) gem
Once in a while you come across something truly special… not that all craft breweries aren’t special in one way or another in my eyes, but this one really gave me all the feels. You how what I mean… I introduce to you Gyppo Ale Mill! Continue reading “A little “lost” (and found!) gem”
Indie beer in Indiana
So I entered the taproom on a Friday afternoon. I had driven in some crazy rainstorm for about two and a half hours from Milwaukee when I finally got to Four Fathers Brewing in Valparaiso (Valpo if you are a local or just don’t want to shoot yourself in the foot trying to pronounce the full thing right). Continue reading “Indie beer in Indiana”
Del Cielo: beer from heaven
There I was thinking Martinez, CA didn’t have any craft breweries. I stand corrected. To be fair, there wasn’t any the last time I had visited. It now has two (next to each other) with another one on the way. That’s exactly the kind of expansion a craft beer nerd like me gets super excited about. This time, I stopped by Del Cielo Brewing and was pleasantly surprised. They make truly great brews and I love the warehouse-type atmosphere! I didn’t get to meet the owners in person that day, but I reached out to them and they took the time to answer my questions. Luis, you’ve got the floor! Continue reading “Del Cielo: beer from heaven”
Border X: To thy own self be true
Once in a while you go to a craft beer festival and find a little gem you’d never heard of before.
Bendites unite at this local beersite
Beersite is not a thing yet, but it should be and it rhymes. So voila! It’s been several weeks since I came back from my trip to Oregon, and I still talk about the craft beer scene in the Bend area as if I had been there yesterday. Bend is a hophead paradise, and you should visit if you haven’t been. Continue reading “Bendites unite at this local beersite”
Six Rivers, two owners, one beer expert
Six Rivers Brewery was brewery visit number 2 of my latest trip to Northern California —not counting the breweries where I didn’t conduct interviews. Don’t judge me; I already know it’s a lot of beer. Continue reading “Six Rivers, two owners, one beer expert”
